Dune trails you MUST hike

Dune trails You MUST hike!
Trail 8 in the Indiana dunes is one of the most difficult and challenging trails to hike. With three large dunes to conquer your sure to come out of this hike with a sense of real satisfaction. If you're up for the challenge of a hike well deserved trail 8 is the hike for you. Get your water bottle ready and prepare for the dune!

Trail 9 in the dunes is a nice walk through the woods. With lots of pictures opportunities, your sure to see nature at its finest. Hiking trail 9 will surely bring peace within the mind and soul. For a leisure walk through the woods, trail 9 is a great choice.

Trail 2 in the dunes is one of the longest trails they offer. Trail 2 winds all through the woods with lots of marshy discoveries. You'll get a lot out of trail two as it provides a troll through the dunes with many lookouts for great pictures. If its distance you're looking for then trail 2 is perfect!

The dunes offer a wonderful resource not only for hiking but for picnics, beach time and great family togetherness. You cant go wrong with that!

Domby Dunes

Took a long walk around the dunes in the Domby area today. I heard a lot about the dunes off Domby but in the years, never have been there. I think for an off road area, its really nice to walk around. I heard about sledding off the Domby Dunes in the winter time but wasn't sure where they were. Its not a big area but there are a few dunes big enough to give a great uphill hike. I was actually quite surprised how nice they were. In the back there is a small wooded area with some short hiking trails. Its perfect for a mild hike on a summer afternoon.

Any addition to Fit forty outdoors hiking is a good addition. I believe however that the Domby dunes may be a privately owned area  but it looked like there was some road access close to the railroad tracks. Im not sure if these dunes will become part of the grind for Fit Forty outdoors but it was fun walking around and discovering a new area.

Indiana Dunes for hiking

Indiana Dunes State park offers so many great trails to discover. Its never a boring day wandering through the dunes. From a mild stroll through the woods or a challenging hike up the dunes, this park delivers the fun factor. I personally enjoy hiking the trails weekly and rewarding that hike with a swim in Lake Michigan and basking on the beach. An entire day can be spent at the dunes as they offer multiple shaded picnic areas to enjoy a picnic lunch or dinner.

From the breath taking views at the top of the dunes, picture opportunities are abundant. Save the memory forever. Indiana Dunes can take all the stress away while providing its peaceful nature. You may enter in one state of mind but are sure to leave in another. Do not miss the opportunity to explore all that this outstanding park has to offer.

Imagination Glen Portage indiana-Fit Forty Outdoors

Another FANTASTIC hike with my partner in crime MS Taylor. The trails at imagination glen weren't to bad, not very muddy at all. There was one point though where my NIKE flip flop didn't quite grab the mud well and I about fell in the creek. It was a good save with stealthy moves like a ninja. We had a great time scouting trails and getting ready to launch Fit forty outdoors. We talked a lot about discovering new trails before April 1st and really taking advantage of porter county. Its amazing how much greatness is right at our fingertips.

Imagination glen which is referred to as The outback trail is located at 2275 McCool road Portage Indiana 46368. It offers quite a few great trails to hike or to mountain bike. Imagination Glen consist of two parts. The east side and the west side. Both offering a great nature experience. The scenic trails along the creek are a beautiful asset to Portage hiking. Located near is an entrance to the wonderful paved bike trail that is also great for walking or jogging. The friendly faces you see are a reminder of the good hearted nature of Portage Indiana.

In Fit Forty outdoors, we hike. I've personally hiked these trails and found that they offer a peaceful and beautiful experience. The pictures in todays blog is late winter. So the scenery is getting ready to breathe life again. I love seeing all the seasons unfold in nature. It’s a life experience moment that teaches us how to live through even the most difficult of times. It all begins with the beauty of spring when life blossoms before our very eyes, to the full canvas of green in the summer, the changing of colors and preparation of the months ahead in fall to the deep freeze of winter. It’s a beautiful life lesson that nature provides us. One who understands the seasons, understands life.

Imagination Glen is going to be one of Fit Forty outdoors regular hiking trail. We find that it offers an experience with challenge but yet is a scenic pleasure that warms our hearts and soul. With many lookout points available to rest and take in nature, its perfect for all fitness levels. You will defiantly enjoy the pleasure of hiking through these wonderful trails.

nature is peace -fit forty outdoors

The winter snow has finally melted and the air smells of spring. The birds are coming home to play and mornings are greeted by their song. Its a beautiful time, life is reawakening. The sun is rising earlier than before and the mornings are vibrant and alive once again. The soul is warmed by the thought of natures beauty breathing life back into the day.

Spring is almost here and memories begin to flood the mind. The glorious moments of the passed under the big tree in early morning. Drinking coffee and watching the day unfold. The breeze slightly flowing through the air and the way it brought such peace. Breathe in and exhale the day.

Imagine if you will for only a moment, living with happiness in every second of the day. The thoughts of simplistic joy flooding your heart. Being mindless among nature and appreciating her many wonders and curiosities. Being empty, yet fulfilled in that given moment. What if that moment could be forever.

With the bluest of blue skies and the green canvas of nature, there becomes within a sense of quiet, a sense of calm. The clouds are slowly passing through the sky as the sun reflects on the face, it is an old feeling of comfort, it welcomes your mind to release. Joy overcomes your body and at last, you have found your center.

Coversation with Mark-fit forty outdoors

"So, I read a lot about this outdoor group you’ve been posting about on your facebook page." replied mark in a private message.

"Yeah, I appreciate you taking an interest. The group should help a lot of people this coming spring get out of the winter slump and into the spring spirit." I answered back. I defiantly like the communication level that’s happening.

"What kind of activities are you planning on providing in this group?"

'Well Mark, There are several great paved and dirt trails located right here in Porter county. I plan on utilizing them all to keep the group exciting. Because of the wonderful aspects of this county, not only is bike riding safe and off road, we have excellent hiking trails as well. The bike trails are also an excellent way to take in a light early morning stroll."

Mark replies "Sounds like a great outlet after a stressful day or even a great way to start the day off right. I haven't seen anything like this group in the area so I like what you're doing."

"Thanks Mark, I appreciate the positive feedback. Its always nice to hear from people who are as excited about the outdoors as I am. It’s the community that will make this group outstanding. Is this group something you think you would enjoy participating in on a regular basis?"

"It depends on how much it costs because I'm on a strict budget right now but Id defiantly be interested."

"No worries Mark, Its free. The group is based on sponsorships. It was created to bring the community together in a positive way. All I require is your time and a positive attitude."

"WOW! That’s great. I'm defiantly interested Jen. Thanks so much for providing such a positive service."

My final reply "Thank you Mark! Its people like you that will make Fit Forty outdoors a success. nature can help you-fit forty outdoors

Sometimes life takes a real turn for the worse when you're with the wrong person. You can become so wrapped up in the other persons life that you don’t even notice how terribly your own life is going down. Eventually you become so lost that it may mock a depression. But in reality, you just met the wrong person. This is what happened to me. I didn’t even realize how bad that person was for me. The big break up went something like this "I met another woman and had drinks with her and listened to music. I didn’t want to tell you because I felt bad. But I don’t like you because you don’t like country music and I just want to listen to country music. I met her on social media. So I don’t want to be with you anymore, you need to leave." Imagine my surprise to hearing this. I thought and said "Why didn’t you break up with me first before trying to meet other people?" Typical response was a cold glare of hate. The next day he packed a bag and is now staying with his new girlfriend and apparently seems content. One weeks its "I cant imagine life without you." the next its all history. So imagine if you can, what the middle of the relationship was like with someone who didn’t truly have any emotions for me. That’s right, it was lonely, confusing and empty.

It took a lot of inner confidence to realize the value within myself. As a woman, I felt humiliated and defeated. Fortunately over the course of the years I began to form hobbies that kept me from losing touch with myself. I found peace in certain aspects and chaos in others. After awhile I began to focus less on the chaos and more on the peace. It brought me to a place where I felt at ease. This was the place, that in the end, I knew I was suppose to be. A friend of mine said "Life is to short to be wasting it on someone who doesn’t care about you." I thought about that statement over and over. What I came up with was this: Life isn't really that short. It only seems short when you're not living in harmony with your thoughts and actions. Life would feel fulfilled on a level of genuine peace, if you live your purpose. Then and only then will  the right people enter and that genuine sense of fulfillment will guide you through. Its not exactly about the right person completing you, its more about how you complete yourself to become the right person you desire.

Upon getting "right" within myself, which is always a work in progress I had to realize my purpose. Essentially I think that the core of you are and have been in your life since birth should prove what you're meant to become. The core of who I always was had a lot to do with imagination, creativity and the outdoors. Nature was always my main source of peace. . A mind cannot feel chaos in the midst of the calming sense of nature. Its undeniable.

After the forgiveness took hold, all the pain went away. I knew exactly what I needed to do. I need to help others find peace through nature. Even if that peace is just a mild walk through nature listening to the birds play and watching the flowers bloom. Peace within soothes so much pain. I'm not mad about the last few years. If anything it brought me back to myself and helped me realize who I truly was and am. Its part of living your purpose. Sometimes confusion can set in and we get off track but then nature calls and it becomes all good again.

Fit Forty Outdoors-Get ready to have some fun

If you ever thought "Hey, Id like to go hiking." then rethought "Hey, I don’t want to go alone." then your not alone. I spent years upon years hiking, bike riding and taking walks all by myself. Although its really peaceful, it also gets really boring. I defiantly love the woods, the sand dunes, the bike trails and always wanted to push myself to go the extra mile but after awhile, it just got old being by myself. Its easy to lose the motivation after years of silent outdoors. Don’t get me wrong, self motivation is great but motivation fueled by positive support, even better. That’s why Fit Forty Outdoors is a great outlet to make friends and stay motivated.

So what exactly is Fit Forty Outdoors? Well, the answer is pretty simple, it’s a group of people who like hiking, bike riding and walking who utilize the wonderful assets of Porter county. Assets? The vast amount of paved trails as well as some dirt trails located all over Porter county. We meet, we enjoy, we get exercise doing it. You don’t have to be in top physical condition because Fit Forty Outdoors is about ENJOYING your surroundings.

Why would you want to show up to a group with a bunch of strangers? The old saying goes, a stranger is just a friend you haven't met yet. In my book, you cant have to many friends, especially if those friends enjoy the same activities as you do. Nothing breaks the monotony  of the weeks better than good conversation and a little mother nature. Its food for the soul.

How much does this cost: The biggest cost you will incur with fit forty outdoors is your time. Fit Forty Outdoors  looks for great sponsors who love our county and support positive community involvement. Anyone can sponsor or donate to Fit Forty Outdoors. It helps keep the community plugged in to positive!

When does everyone meet: There are scheduled events that occur on the same day and time every week. To stay informed "LIKE" and share the Fit Forty Outdoors page. Events are posted daily. There is something for everyone. Even kids. Family means everything and in this day and age parents time is precious with their children. If your child loves the outdoors, then this group is for them as well.

I hope you will join us in our mission to enjoy the seasons in the great outdoors. Memories and good times are waiting for you!
